Mr. Alexey A. Demko, Chairman of the Stolin District Executive Committee  The CORE Programme is all about co-operation for rehabilitation of Belarusian districts affected by the Chernobyl disaster. The Stolin District is one of such districts. We pledge our support and co-operation to all the CORE activities designed to help people and improve their lives. I hope that through joint concerted efforts of local, national and international partners, the Programme would be able to mitigate the consequences of the Chernobyl tragedy, upgrade people’s living standards, and ensure sustainable development of the district. The future development of the Programme depends on gradual and consistent resolution of the identified problems, and implementation of local initiatives. One of its main successes should be the assessment of people living on the contaminated and affected territories.
