We are proud to present you the e-version of the “Co-operation for Rehabilitation” (CORE) Programme Annual Review 2007 in the Russian and English languages. The new publication reflects results and practical experience of topical and small-scale initiatives on the rehabilitation of the living conditions implemented in the CORE participating districts in 2007. The impact of the CORE Programme on the rehabilitation of the affected areas and population, the list of the most significant CORE events of the year are closing the Review.
A museum exposition, dedicated to a hero- firefighter Vasiliy Ignatenko, was opened on the grounds of the Bragin Historical Museum on 1 August 2008 in the town of Bragin, Gomel Region. The new hall of the museum narrates about the life and heroic deed of the native of the Bragin District, firefighter Vasiliy Ignatenko, one of the first, who on the night from 25 to 26 April 1986 climbed to fight the fire on the roof of the fourth reactor of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
More than 50 initiators of the International CORE “Cooperation for Rehabilitation” Programme took part in four mini Preparation and Assesment Committee (PAC) meetings in Slavgorod, Chechersk, Bragin and Stolin districts in July 2008. During the mini PAC sessions the participants analyzed 73 projects with total budget of more than 3 million Euros, which were accepted into the CORE Programme in 2004-2007 and as of today did not receive support from national, foreign and international partners.
The implementation of a small-scale project “Furry Giant” on rabbits raising in the schoolyard rabbit farm was launched in the framework of the International “Cooperation for Rehabilitation” (CORE) Programme in the village of Otor, Chechersk District, Gomel Region.
